A24 is Film distribution company based in NYC. While I research about A24, I was surprised because It’s quite rare for a film distribution company to have a strong fanbase. So my first step was watch couple of film by A24 to uncover what makes A24 so special. And I found that Most movies tend to follow predictable clichés, but A24 films push boundaries with unique and unexpected storytelling.

Custom Typeface
To transform ideas into visuals, I paired two contrasting typographic styles: a serif and a reversed serif. This deliberate contrast symbolizes the interplay between the cliché and the unexpected, encapsulating the duality at the heart of A24’s storytelling.”

Secondary Typeface
& Brand color
The selected secondary typefaces for the brand identity are Söhne by Klim Type Foundry and Simon Mono by ABC Dinamo. Söhne provides excellent readability and pairs seamlessly with the overall brand identity, acting as a versatile typeface to unify the visual language. Simon Mono, on the other hand, ties into the identity of a film distribution business by referencing scriptbooks, which are typically formatted in monospaced typefaces. Together, these typefaces offer both functionality and a meaningful conceptual connection to the film industry.
The brand's color palette draws inspiration from the classic test pattern, reimagined to represent the diversity of film genres distributed by the company. Six distinct colors have been chosen, each corresponding to a specific genre: Yellow for Comedy, Cyan for Sci-Fi, Green for Drama, Pink for Romance, Red for Action, and Blue for Horror, Each color will serve as a genre indicator, prominently featured in branding assets such as posters, trailers, and digital platforms to quickly communicate the type of film to the audience.
