(06) Riminy
Typeface design
Editorial design
Riminy is a serif typeface that embodies my ideals and aspirations as a designer. My goal was to craft a comprehensive set of Latin alphabet glyphs, complete with ligatures and custom ampersands, demonstrating my dedication to precision and elegance in type design.

The first step was to establish a clear goal for the typeface I wanted to create. I brainstormed ideas, envisioning a design inspired by Garamond with curves reflecting a botanical and organic mood. The result would be a mid-weight, mid-contrast, super-elegant serif—rich with ampersands and ligatures to enhance its character and sophistication.
Garamond vs Riminy
I brought some elegant visuals from Garamond such as:
- Gently curved serif from “n”.
- Humanistic influences like tilied axis on the letter “o”.
- unique style “W” with two overlapped ‘V’ shapes.
At the same time I go diffrent approches such as:
- Different style serif of 'G' and 'S'.
- Different style of 'a'.
- More curved, soft tail instead of a nip-pen-like stroke tail.
